My pipes i made for the 69 dripping in chrome.
We took a weekend trip out to Palm Springs to find the famous Nude Bowl. Formerly an abandoned nudist colony all thats left is a pool and some other items to skate. Its a rutted 2 mile dirt road to get out here and the pool is aggressive. Made for an memorable weekend with my dudes Adam on the shovelhead and Paul on the Yellow pan.
Finished the fabrication on my new rear brake system for my 69. The goal here was to create a mechanical looking pedal/linkage system with a hidden master cylinder to actuate the hydraulic drum brake.
the pedal is attached to a shaft that using the stock crossover shaft on the panhead frame and linkage to the cam.
Master cylinder is hidden sitting sideways behind my transmission and actuated by a turning cam to push the plunger.
Instead of running a hydraulic brake switch, i kept the mechanical linkage switch and mounted it underneath the transmission out of sight to avoid having extra brake line fittings/switches.
All parts manually machined out of stainless steel.
New pipes i fabricated for my 69 in the raw. Finished for chrome. I made 1/4'“ ribs and tig welded them with silicon bronze the help the transition from straight pipe into the megaphone to help them flow better and also one the the ends for some extra flare.

In the mad rush to finish the bike before the show i did not take any photos during final assembly. Lucky i have some very talented friends in different mediums of photography who took some great photos. The last two photos feature invited builder Jake Hindes- Prism Motorcycles insane panhead build and Jake himself.

Finished paint for my Peoples Champ 5 build. The color is a custom color that i mixed from an old Triumph color originally tweaking it to have more of a peachy pink color palette.
Current progress on my shovelhead build for peoples champ 5.
Got my frame, gas tank, and oil tank all body worked ready to spray primer in preparation to paint.
my best friend Skyler has been collecting parts for a little while and finally got enough together to start putting it together. Spent the past couple weeks after work getting all the fab work taken care of. A few more things to make then ready to be broken down for paint and chrome.
I wanted the exhaust to flow with the lines of the frame and keep the frame rails uninterrupted in view so that nothing is hidden. routed the front exhaust pipe in between the floorboard stanchion and brake arm to keep it as tight as possible so that its not wasted space with the single downtube.
Real excited to see my name on the list of the final 13 builders for Peoples Champ 5 2017! Another update is due on 4/7 and the final cut will narrow the list to 6 that will all debut their bikes at cooks corner in June at the pre party for Born Free show. Moving onto to just final details on the bike before i start the chrome and paint prep!
Had the opportunity to be photographed by friend and local photographer Richard Fusillo for a really cool project that he has been working on called Encounters. He is compiling photos and info of creative people and their work of all different kinda of mediums from art to music to cooking and fabrication that all reside in our small central coast area. This will eventually become a book when he has the project finished up.
Excited to be a small part of it and cant wait to see the final outcome!
Today is the next round of voting for Peoples Champ 5 where the field gets narrowed from 25 to 13 and i pulled the bike down off the bench to take some update photos.
After going threw all of my different ideas for a taillight, i came to the realization that i would be ripping off one person or another depending on which design i went with. So i picked up this light made by Kim at Boyle Custom Moto which is shaped sleek like a bullet light and matches the shape of my dual molded headlights.
Fab'd up a mount and will run the brake wires up through the frame.
I have been dreading adding the fifth trans mount which normally mounts from the frame to the transmission and ruin the nice look of the transmission almost floating in the frame rails. So i came up with this way of adding the fifth mount to the transmission mounting plate so it has the mount it needs but keeps the flow of the frame.
